Word: Cry
Verse: Psalm 22:2 "O my God, I cry by day, but You do not answer; And by night, but I have no rest." NASB
Facts/Observations: In Psalm 21 David has strength; Psalm 22 he is crying out; Psalm 23 he appears to have peace. Psalm 22 is a foretelling of Christ's suffereing on the cross. He is the only one who was ever forsaken by God--briefly & momentarily--and that for my (our) sake! By the end of Psalm 22 David is reminding himself of God's faithfulness and is turning his thoughts to trusting God.
Application: I am reminded in these Psalms of the ups & downs of this life. We will get discouraged in this world, but 1.) I need never worry about being forsaken because Christ did so for our sake; 2.) Crying out to and relying on the Lord is the right thing to do when I am discouraged. 3.) I need to remind myself of God's faithfulness during discouraging times and trust in Him.

Verse: Song of Solomon 2:5-6 "Sustain me with cakes of raisins, Refresh me with apples,
For I am lovesick. His left hand is under my head, And his right
hand embraces me."
Facts/Observations: Song of Solomon is picturing a love story between King Solomon and a common Jewish girl. The story reveals many of God's principles and perceptions on sacred love and the relationship between couples. Also, this love story is often used as a symbol of God's love to his people.
Application: When I saw this week's object, all the words that came to my mind were kind of leaning on the sad side (i.e. sick, cold, sneezing). Yet, when I started searching for the scripture verse, the first one I found was the verse above. I was excited to see how the same word could be attached to "happy" feelings as well.
I was reminded in this verse that (1) words or stituations can always be looked at from different angles; it depends on me..how I really want to use/refelct/act on them. Just like the sick word, it's up to me how I want to use/see it, (2) I need to continue be "in love" with God and set times regulary just to cherish our personal relationship, without worrying about the other stuff in life because He is there surrounding me with his left and right hands; nothing to worry about while in his arms, (3) I need to apply the wonderful principles of love in this book to my married life.
